At MUDDLE we are all about our young students’ clay experience being fun, informative, creative and technique-focussed.

At the start of their first MUDDLE term, Young Muddlers are introduced to a number of basic techniques from which they continue to build on. Sometimes we have fun whole-class projects, sometimes we work with the students to create projects of their own invention, idea or challenge.

 

Our large light-filled workshop space includes pottery wheels, a slab roller, hand-building tables, and all the tools needed.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:​
Clay, glazes, tools, equipment are all supplied, and firing of works made during class.
Tutor
Clay Fuller

Having studied and worked in architecture, Clay (they/them) has always held a strong interest in form and materials. Clay has a great knowledge of ceramics, and has been a MUDDLE Club member since the studio began. Clay now works as a ceramics teacher at two studios; and has a small ceramics practice, selling via retail outlets, at markets and online via Instagram @clay_full

Clay has 15 years of experience working with young people; and has a current Working with Vulnerable People Card.

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend your booked term classes please notify us as soon as possible. If we are able to find someone to take your place in the class you will be refunded 90% of the class fee. If we are unable to find someone to take your place in the class you will be refunded 50% of the class fee.

Once term has started there is no refund given for the remaining classes in the term. No refunds or credits are given for missed classes.

If the classes are cancelled by MUDDLE Ceramics Workshop then you will be refunded in full for the number of classes owing.

No, unfortunately if it says that it is sold out on the website, it is indeed sold out and we can’t fit any more people in, we’re sorry.

We get asked a lot if we offer a firing service, and unfortunately, we don’t. The only place we know of in Hobart that has a kiln hire/firing service is Derwent Ceramics in Moonah.

Our wheels are all in use for our classes, so we’re sorry but we are unable to offer any of our pottery wheels for hire. The same goes for all of our other equipment and tools.
