Suitable for absolute beginners, or those who want to go over the basics again.

Due to popular demand and feedback we have received, we have extended our Wheely Good Start course to be 8-weeks instead of 4 – get a really Wheely Good Start with us!

Over the course of 8 x 3hr-sessions you will be taught throwing basics, then led through a variety of techniques to improve your throwing skills and gradually gaining confidence on the sometimes unwieldy wheel.

A fun and relaxed course, you will be lead through the clay prep, throwing, trimming and glazing processes. We’ll cover troubleshooting, different styles and techniques, as well as helping you practice, practice, practice.

We offer Hobart’s biggest teaching studio with in-house clay and a huge range of glazes included. Get muddled with us.

Having studied and worked in architecture, Clay (they/them) has always held a strong interest in form and materials. Clay has a great knowledge of ceramics, and has been a MUDDLE Club member since the studio began. Clay now works as a ceramics teacher at two studios; and has a small ceramics practice, selling via retail outlets, at markets and online via Instagram @clay_full

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend your booked workshop please notify us as soon as possible via email.

If we are able to find someone to take your place in the workshop you will be refunded 90% of the workshop fee. If we are unable to find someone to take your place in the workshop you will be refunded 50% of the workshop fee.

No refund will be given if you cancel within 7 days of the workshop date.

If the workshop is cancelled by MUDDLE Ceramics Workshop then you will be refunded in full.

No, unfortunately if it says that it is sold out on the website, it is indeed sold out and we can’t fit any more people in, we’re sorry.

We get asked a lot if we offer a firing service, and unfortunately, we don’t. The only place we know of in Hobart that has a kiln hire/firing service is Derwent Ceramics in Moonah.

Our wheels are all in use for our classes, so we’re sorry but we are unable to offer any of our pottery wheels for hire. The same goes for all of our other equipment and tools.
