Casual studio access for potters with an intermediate skill level (or higher!)

 

PLEASE READ INFO BELOW VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING!

Studio access during our term opening hours to come along & muddle unsupervised.

  • Access hours are 10am – 9pm, Monday – Thursday during term weeks
  • Available as a whole-term block only (8-weeks), and only for the term you are booking for (i.e. can’t split the 8 weeks over multiple terms)
  • No tuition is available, & you must be at least at an intermediate skill level and be able to work unsupervised (a MUDDLE team member will always be on the premises if you have questions, but are not available to provide in-depth assistance)
  • Firing fees are extra, & will depend on how much work you produce. We charge either by kilo ($12 per kg), weighed at the end of the firing cycle; OR by kiln load (in the small kilns: K1 & K2). Which option is best for you will be determined on a case-by-case basis, we will chat about firings with you as we go
  • MUDDLE Club Classes students get priority on equipment and tools over Studio Access Muddlers during class time
  • No studio access during term break

 

 

You will need to give us some info at the checkout stage about your relevant experience, including evidence of your practice (social media/website; or a referee if you don’t have socials/website).

If we think that maybe you don’t have enough experience you will contacted by us & potentially refunded in full if we can’t determine that you meet the criteria (sorry! we just can’t have inexperienced people working with our equipment / having pots blowing up in the kilns!).

Current/Ex-MUDDLE Student? Preferably you will need to have done at least two MUDDLE Terms.

Cancellation Policy
If date of cancellation is prior to term commencing we will refunded you 90% of the term fee.

If date of cancellation is after term has started there is no refund given for the remaining weeks in the term. No refunds or credits are given for missed weeks.

If the studio access is cancelled by MUDDLE Ceramics Workshop then you will be refunded in full for the number of weeks owing.

No, unfortunately if it says that it is sold out on the website, it is indeed sold out and we can’t fit any more people in, we’re sorry.

We get asked a lot if we offer a firing service, and unfortunately, we don’t. The only place we know of in Hobart that has a kiln hire/firing service is Derwent Ceramics in Moonah.

Our wheels are all in use for our classes, so we’re sorry but we are unable to offer any of our pottery wheels for hire. The same goes for all of our other equipment and tools.
