These classes are open to all levels of clay experience from beginner through to a seasoned maker.
Classes are taught in an open learning style, & there are mixed experience levels in each class. Our teacher demonstrates and explains different techniques, & then offers continuing guidance as students work on their own projects. Hands-on explanations of technical issues are given as they arise, & students are supported throughout the learning process. Our classes are inclusive, fun and interesting.
In the fully equipped studio learners can experience hand-building (making using the pinch, coil and slab techniques), wheel throwing (using the potters wheel to form the clay) and slip casting (using liquid clay in moulds). If you are new to clay, you’ll be lead briefly through each of these techniques at the start of term.
Our large light-filled workshop space includes 10 pottery wheels, a slab roller, hand-building tables, slip casting equipment and all the tools you’ll need.
We have a fully equipped kitchen; & bikkies, tea, coffee, milo etc are all provided.
MUDDLE CLUB
Our ‘Muddle Club’ means that our enrolled students can come along to the studio whenever it’s open to keep working on their clay creations. Muddle Club access hours are 10am – 9pm Monday-Thursday, and other times by arrangement (but during term time only – we are closed during term break).
