Learn about the effects of manipulating glazes, & what happens when you mix & change the glaze ingredients in order to explore different glaze effects. This hands-on workshop covers how to do line blends, and then bi-axial blends, tri-axial blends, measuring the specific gravity of glazes and beyond. There will be discussions on the theories of glaze manipulation and historical glaze experimentation. How are glaze components calculated properly? What are the limits?

Come along & experiment with us!

The tests will all be fired, and then the group gets together again a week later to discuss the results and ask more questions.

Students are encouraged to bring some of their own bisqued STONEWARE work to glaze if they would like. Students are required to bring their own safety gear, such as respirators/P2 face masks and enclosed shoes.
