MUDDLE has been running since February 2020 after finding our large, sunny warehouse to fill it with our clay dreams.
MUDDLE has been established based on a passion for ceramics and sharing that passion with others.
We are an inclusive, safe, fun, friendly place, and we believe in equality and respect for all people. We are proud allies of the LGBTQIA+, disability and BIOPIC communities.
Alice [Alby] Holder
Alby is a maker and a manager.
As a manager, Alby is the #BossLady of MUDDLE and Small Fires Studio. Before ceramics took over her life, Alby worked as a Project Manager across Australia implementing a wide range of visual arts, craft and design projects including award-winning public art projects, exhibitions, festivals and events.
As a maker, Alby is a potter and a jeweller (under the business name Alby South); and a craft fanatic, florist, cook and gardener on the side.
Isaac Patmore
Isaac is the Creative Director and Lead Tutor at MUDDLE, and the Lead Production Potter at Small Fires Studio.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts / Ceramics in 2003 Isaac has worked as a ceramic artist, educator and producer ever since. Isaac’s practice is focused on working as a functional production potter, ceramics teacher and woodfiring ceramic artist and kiln builder.
Isaac’s work is in private and public collections nationally and internationally.
Sully
The Studio Dog
Sully is our resident studio dog and general love-giver.
Sully is a rescue staffy-x who is otherwise known as ‘Sully-the-Smoocher’. Sully will be the first one to greet you on arrival to the studio, he is very chatty, engages in full-bum tail wags, and is very affectionate.
Sully’s anxiety means he isn’t able to have other doggy friends, so we can’t have other doggo’s visit, but humans?
All of the pats, please.
